This is my third portrait session with Emily. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph her first communion portrait, eight grade graduation portrait and now her senior portrait! Although it makes me feel a little old, it is a joy to watch my clients grow and flourish. Emily is a senior at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, AZ. She has been involved in swimming and speech and debate at Chaparral and is a peer tutor and mentor there. She also serves on the Student Activity Board for the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board and volunteers for Welcome to America Project which supports refugees resettling in the greater Phoenix area.
You might say that public service runs in her blood. Her father and grandfather have been involved in Arizona political scene for some time. She volunteered for John McCain’s re-election campaign in 2016 and was a Page in the U.S. Senate between sophomore and junior year. Emily plans to study economics, public policy and international relations in college, hopefully in Washington, D.C. Wherever her path leads her, I know she will be a success due to her faith, work ethic, intelligence and compassion.
Here are some of my favorties from her session in Paradise Valley.
